There are many variations in the spelling of the name Coppernoll in early records....
Please help me identify this mystery woman. Which Coppernoll family is hers? Margaret Coppernoll, b. April 24, 1786, d. June 2, 1861 at Clockville, Madison Co., NY. She is buried in the Clockville cemetery with her husband Reuben Parkhill. They were married November 5, 1806. Clockville was settled by the Klock family from the Mohawk Valley of NY. It is almost certain that Margaret belongs to these Coppernoll lines below, but which one? Her vital records are from a family bible and family history is that she was from Cherry Valley area of New York. Can anyone help identify her line of descent? walkers@vaix2.net

Frank
Cuppernoll of South Bay Succumbed to Typhoid Monday
The many friends of Frank Cuppernoll of the Lake View
House at South Bay, the past popular hotel proprietor on the shores of
Oneida Lake were painfully shocked Monday to hear of his death. Mr. Cuppernoll
had been ill for several weeks but he had been in bed only from the previous
Thursday. He was attended by Dr. Reames and was being cared for by a trained
nurse. Mr. Cuppernoll did not realize his serious condition and Sunday
afternoon he sat on the side of the bed and told Charles Phillips of this
village that he expected to be around in a few days. Monday morning about
6:30 he died. The doctor thinks that a perforation of the bowels was the
immediate cause of death.
Frank Cuppernoll was a resident of Canastota for some
years before going to South Bay nine years ago. He came here from Bridgeport
where he was born 43 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cuppernoll
who were pioneer residents of that place. In Canastota he was employed
by the Canastota Electric Light Power company. In 1903 Mr. Cuppernoll went
to South Bay as proprietor of the Stephens House which he managed for two
years. He then took the Lake View House which he had successfully conducted
for seven years.
Surviving Mr. Cuppernoll is his widow and two daughters,
Mrs. Hubert Tubbs and Miss Viola Cuppernoll. He is also survived by his
aged mother and one sister, Mrs. Anna Cleveland of Canastota.
Our South Bay correspondent writes as follows concerning
Mr. Cuppernoll's death:
"Mr. Cuppernoll was a genial whole soul man, a kind
father, a good neighbor and a willing contributor of time or money any
good cause or
improvement that would better conditions in the place.
He has made great improvements to his property and the high class trade
which he attracted has helped to give our town a favorable reputation among
the better class of people throughout the state. He was respected and loved
for his good qualities by his friends and acquaintances, and especially
by the children in the neighborhood. Messages of condolences are pouring
in from all over the state which attest to the high esteem and popularity
of the deceased."
The funeral which will be public, will be held at
the Lake View House at 2 p.m., Thursday. The B.P.O. Elks, of which Mr.
Cuppernoll was an
esteemed member, will take charge of the services
at the house and grave, Rev. D.G. Christman of South Bay will preach the
funeral sermon.
