Mrs. Emma Jacques Walton, 76, wife of J.B. Walton, died at the family home in Pleasant View, today noon, from heart trouble. She had been ill for the past two months.
Mrs. Walton was born in Provo, Jan. 10, 1856, a daughter of George W and Louisa Phillips Jacques. She was married Oct 31, 1877, in the St George temple and had always made her home here.
She was a devout member of the LDS Church adn took an active part in the affairs of her ward until her health failed her several years ago. She was one of the founders of the MIA in the pioneer days.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs M W Bennet, Los Angeles; Mrs Elmo Brereton, Provo; Mrs Raymond Freshwater, Ogden; one son, Berne Walton, IdahoFalls; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Roy and Milton Jacques, Provo; one sister, Mrs Nora Wagoner, Midway.
