Brief Biography of Thomas Walton Price


Born 8 April 1793 in Linton, a township in Bromyard Parish, Herefordshire, England, Thomas was christened "Thomas Walton" at the Bromyard parish church on May 5, 1793. His father is not named in the parish register; his mother's name is given as Sarah Walton.

Thomas marries "Jane Rowley" in the Whitbourne parish church by banns on 20 May 1819.

At the death of Jane's brother, Samuel, in 1839, the farm, "The Ford," becomes property of Jane and Thomas.

The family emigrates to Utah in three groups. Their son, Joseph, and his new wife, Jane Burraston, leave Whitbourne in January 1852; Thomas, Jane and three children (George, John and Jane) emigrate in January 1853; their oldest daughter, Ann, with her husband, John William Townsend, and their children emigrate in March 1860.

Thomas died in Millcreek, Utah, on 4 Dec 1870 of "old age." He is buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
