Several autobiographical sketches, life stories and obituaries have been sent in to the family organization in a form which would be improved by retyping or transcribing. What is displayed over the Internet is actually a photograph of the original, often a Xerox copy. For purposes of the family history, this document needs to be "word processed" or typed out as an editable computer file.

If you are willing to do this for us, please follow these steps:

  1. Email or telephone (801) 226-1123 (David Walton) and identify which file you are retyping,
  2. Print out the document or view it on your computer screen,
  3. Retype the document as an email message or, for long documents, type it out within your word processing software,
    1. Formating makes little difference except for the need to keep the original paragraphing. Type each paragraph as a whole before pressing the "carriage return" key.
    2. Save the file, if word processed, in one of these formats (all word processors can do this as part of the SaveAs function) -WordPerfect 5, WordPerfect 6, Microsoft Word.
  4. Email (or attach the word processed file to email) the finished product

The document you send in will replace the less legible file within a few days. Thank you for your help.
