1. James (Rev.)1 Keith was born in 1696 at Peterhead, Aberdeen, Scotland. He married Mary Isham Randolph, daughter of Thomas (Tuckahoe) Randolph and Judith Fleming, on 2 Mar 1732/33 Near Germantown. He died in 10 Dec 1752 at Bristersburg, VA. He was buried in 1752 at Fauquier, VA; he and wife buried under chancel of old Elk Run Church, Prince Wm. County now Fauquier.
Hereditary Earls Marischal of Scotland. He was 1745-1753 Episcopal Parson, Hamilton Parish, Fauquier.  He emigrated on 4 Mar 1727/28 from Rec'd King's Bounty to go to Virginia. On 12 Oct 1733 removed to Maryland briefly. On 25 Jun 1753 Appraisers appointed by Prince William County, John Wright, George Hovile, John Ambrose and John Crump. Estate Appraisal on 26 Mar 1754 Inventory and appraisement of estate recorded PWC. Estate Account on 31 May 1754 Additional estate inventory recorded in PWC.

2. James2 Keith Jr. (James1) was born circa 1734 at Prince William (now Fauquier). He married Catherine Contee, daughter of John Contee and Margaret Snowden. He died on 16 Oct 1824 at Alexandria, VA. 1798-1807, President of the Patowmack Company. Military service soldier in Rev. War. Sworn as attorney in Prince William County, studied law at Williamsburg. In 1760  purchased 1,025 acres, 8 slaves, Non-resident of Fairfax lived in Frederick County. He was Qualified as Clerk of Frederick County Court for 62 years, 1762-1824. In 1784 Mayor of Alexandria. Will on 19 May 1814.

3. John2 Keith (James1) was born circa 1735 at Prince William (now Fauquier). He married Mary (Elizabeth?) Doniphan, daughter of Alexander Doniphan and Mary Waugh, after 1768. He died before Nov 1809 at Fauquier.

4. Isham (Lieut)2 Keith (James1) was born in 1735 at Prince William (of "Woodbourne" Fauquier). He married Charlotte Ashmore, daughter of William Ashmore and Elizabeth (Betty) Gallahue, in 1778 Fauquier. He died in 1787 at Fauquier.
He lived at "Woodbourne", Fauquier. Military service in 1777 Lieutenant in Third Virginia Regiment, payment in land 2,666 acres, resigned 1778 because of eye damage caused by smallpox. Inherited on 8 Sep 1778 "Soldiers Retreat" and "South Run" per Gott, DB 6. Will on 24 Sep 1787.

5. Thomas (Capt.) Randolph2 Keith (James1) was born circa 1736 at Prince William (now Fauquier). He married Judith Blackwell, daughter of Joseph (Col.) Blackwell Sr. and Lucy Steptoe, on 25 May 1775 Fauquier County, VA Sec. V, Ch 33, Chief Justice John Marshall officiating. He died in 1805 at Georgia. He was buried at near Evans, Columbia Co., GA in old Keith burying ground, unmarked.
Went to Georgia accompanied by son John Marshall Keith. Died intestte. He lived at description of property in estate settlement surveyed by Peter Conway 1811. National Archives Pension record. He was Gent. Justice of Peace. Military service in 1778 Record 5119, Lt. of Fauquier Co., later Capt. received Bounty Warrant. Inherited on 8 Sep 1778 "Huntly" see Gott p 205 Deed Book 6 for description. Property on 3 Sep 1787 Granted 20,626 acres in Fayette County on the Ohio by Beverly Randolph. He was on Tax List in 1790; Fauquier Personal Tax C, 1 free tithable, 12 negroes over 16, 1 negro 12-16, 9 horses and mares. On 12 Jun 1794 purchased 31 acres with Peter Conway along Deep Run. Estate Appraisal on 25 May 1807 Fauquier, WB 4, p 370. Estate Account on 12 Oct 1810 distribution made.

6. Mary Randolph2 Keith (James1) was born on 28 Apr 1737 at Prince William (now Fauquier). She married Thomas (Col.) Marshall, son of John (of the Forest) Marshall and Elizabeth Markham, in 1754 Germantown, Prince William County now Fauquier. She died on 18 Sep 1809 at Lexington, KY, at age 72. She was buried at "The Hill", Washington, Mason Co, KY.

9. Alexander D. (Capt.)2 Keith (James1) was born on 2 Jul 1748 at Prince William Co (now Fauquier) VA. He married (--?--) Yancey. He married Mary Ann Gallahue in 1778 Fredricksburg, Virginia. He died on 7 Feb 1822 at Jefferson County, Miss, at age 73. He was buried in 1822 at Piedemont Cemetery, Rodney, Miss.

He was buried in 1863 at Warrenton Cemetery, Warrenton, Fauquier, VA.

Owned woolen mill at Waterloo and made cloth for Confederate Army from "Years of Anguish" per June [email protected]. Census 1850 VA, Fauquier, Ashby, Farmer $60,000, living with them is Sarah Jones age 13. See letter to legislature regarding freed slaves, list of damages to property by Federal Army, and damages to fences. On 13 Feb 1823. He was buried in 1817 at "Hill" Cemetery, Paxton epitaph p50.
Went with father to Kentucky. He was 1st clerk of County of Mason Co., KY. Military service in 1778 Capt. & Paymaster, enlisted under his father. Will on 4 Mar 1817.

46. James Markham3 Marshall (Mary2 Keith, James1) was born on 12 Mar 1764 at The Hollow, 23 miles west of Warrenton, Fauquier. He married Elizabeth Hurst. He married Hester Morris, daughter of Robert (Hon.) Morris and Mary White, on 19 Apr 1795. He died on 26 Apr 1848 at "Fairfield", Fauquier near Hume, at age 84. He was buried at Monument in Marshall Graveyard, Warren Co., between Front Royal and Happy Creek.
He was Asst. Judge of Territory District of Columbia. He lived at "Fairfield" built in 1822. Built "The Dell" for daughter Susan. Military service in 1779 enlisted age 15 from Fauquier Co., served under Alexander Hamilton, Lieut. in Marshall's Regt.
There were no children of James Markham3 Marshall and Elizabeth Hurst.

He lived at Walnut Grove, Mason Co., KY. He was lawyer, court reporter in KY Court of Appeals. Will in 1824.

52. Dr. Louis (Dr.)3 Marshall (Mary2 Keith, James1) was born on 7 Oct 1773 at Oak Hill, Fauquier. He married Agatha Preston Smith, daughter of Francis (Major) Smith and Anne Preston, in 1800 Frankfort, KY. He died in 1866 at "Buckpond", Woodford Co., KY.
Participated in attack on Bastile, imprisoned several years. He lived at inherited Buck Pond from father. Changed spelling of name from Lewis. He was President of Transylvania (Washington) College in Lexington, KY. Founded school in his home at Buckpond. In 1855 Also Pres. of Liberty (became Washington College in VA).

She married Dr. Basil (Dr.) Duke, son of James Duke and Mary Brome-Wilson, on 3 Apr 1794 "Buckpond", Woodford County, KY. She died on 17 Apr 1817 at Washington, Mason Co., Kentucky. She was buried at "Federal Hill" Family Cemetery, Washington, Mason County, KY.

55. Jane3 Marshall (Mary2 Keith, James1) was born on 29 Jul 1779 at "Oak Hill", Fauquier. She married Judge George Keith Talliaferro Taylor, son of Richard (Capt) Taylor and Mary Field, on 22 Dec 1799. She died on 13 Sep 1866 at Mt. Ephraim, Fauquier Co, at age 87.
She was Ran a girl's school in Petersburg later moved to Richmond. In 1812 helped found the Petersburg Orphan Asylum. In 1845 Gave affidavit for Judith Keith's pension in file.
