1. Henry1 Leland was born circa 1625 at England. He married Margaret Badcock in England. He died on 4 Apr 1680 at Sherburne, MA. He emigrated before 1653 to Sherburne, MA. Will on 27 Mar 1679/80.

2. Hopestill2 Leland (Henry1) was baptized in May 1653 at Dorchester, MA. He was born on 15 Nov 1655 (obviously some conflict here) at Dorchester, MA or at sea. He married Patience Holbrook. He married Abigail Hill on 5 Nov 1678 Medford, MA. He died in 1729 at Sherburne, MA.
Will on 13 Oct 1729.
There were no children of Hopestill2 Leland and Patience Holbrook.

7. Hopestill3 Leland Jr (Hopestill2, Henry1) was born in 1681 at Sherburne, MA. He married Mary Bullard on 24 Feb 1700/1 Sherborn, MA. He died in 1760 at Sherburne, MA.

31. Aaron5 Leland (Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 18 Jul 1751 at Sherburne, MA. He married Keturah Perry. He married Deborah Leland, daughter of Jonathan Leland and Deborah Leland, on 19 May 1774 Sherborn, MA. He died on 17 Sep 1846 at Sherburne, MA, at age 95.
He was Farmer, cultivated fruit trees, Deacon of Congregational Church. Married his second cousin.
Keturah Perry was born circa 1761. She died on 12 Dec 1839 at Sherborn, MA. She was buried at South Sherborn Cemetery.

34. Lewis6 Leland (Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born in 1775 at Sherburne, MA. He married Martha (Patty) Smith in 1799. He died in 1835 at New York City.
Built the "Massachusetts." In 1818 introduced steam boat navigation into Boston Harbor.

41. Francis7 Leland (Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born in 1807 at Boston, MA. He married Euphrasia Aguilar circa 1835. He died in 1885 at probably NYC.
He lived in Uruguay. Census 1850 NYC, Merchant. Census 1870 NYC, Banker. Census 1860 NYC, Banker. Census 1880 NYC, Bank Pres. no wife. He lived in 1869 at 1 West 37th St. NYC.
Euphrasia Aguilar was born in 1816 at Uruguay, South America. She died in 1879 at probably NYC.

42. Martha Ann7 Leland (Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 15 Apr 1809 at Boston, MA. She married George Calder Sr., son of Samuel (Capt.) Calder and Nancy Ellery, on 6 Dec 1827 New York, NY. She died on 4 Aug 1903 at Lancaster, PA, at age 94. She was buried at Section 3, Lancaster City Cemetery, PA.
Met 6 U.S. Presidents. In 1826 Danced with Lafayette at coming out in Boston. Will on 8 May 1894.
George Calder Sr was born on 29 Nov 1799 at Gloucester (1850 census says Boston), MA. He died on 21 Jul 1884 at Lancaster, PA, at age 84. He was buried at Section 3, Lancaster City Cemetery, PA, see photo. Manufacturer. Census 1860 PA Lancaster City, coal merchant, lives next door to Lewis Hurford. Census 1880 retired. Census 1850 PA Lancaster City "agent." He was 1850 PA Census says "agent." Will on 3 Oct 1874.

49. Francis Lewis8 Leland (Francis7, Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 28 Apr 1838 at Montevideo, Uruguay, South America. He married Adelaide Monte after 1880. He died after 1913 at probably NYC.
Census 1870 NYC, living with father, banker and broker. Military service Capt, 1st Reg. NY State Volunteers. He was Pres of New York County National Bank, 14th St. & 8th Ave. He lived in 1913 at 86th & Riverside.

52. Emma M.8 Leland (Francis7, Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born circa 1844 at NY. She married Charles Wesson circa 1869. She died after 1900 at probably NYC.
Census 1900 living with sister Eufrasia at 1 W 37th St. In 1880 living with father, no spouse listed in household.
Charles Wesson died before 1880.

54. Martha A.8 Calder (Martha7 Leland, Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 21 Sep 1828 at Boston. She married Amandus C. Ehler Lancaster, PA. She died on 15 Jul 1875 at age 46.
Amandus C. Ehler was born circa 1830 at PA. He was Clerk in Cotton Mill.

55. George (Edward)8 Calder Jr. (Martha7 Leland, Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 30 Mar 1830 at Boston, MA (on tombstone). He married Mary Maris Hurford, daughter of Lewis Hurford and Sarah Downing Couch, on 28 Apr 1863 Lancaster, PA. He died on 11 Mar 1897 at Lancaster, PA, at age 66. He was buried at Woodward Hill Cemetery, Sec. 17, Lot 3, Lancaster, PA.
Also owned Harrisburg Mill on Calder Street in Harrisburg. Had first telephone in town. Census 1880 Cotton Manufacturer. Christened Edward, grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay. Census 1900 119 North Lime St. He was Partner in Fulton Cotton Mill, SW corner Lemon & North Duke Sts, Lancaster. 49er, returned from CA with fortune. Census 1860 PA Lancaster City, coal merchant, Calder & Co. In 1867 Boiler blew up at Fulton Cotton Mill. In 1888 Cotton Mills went bankrupt. He lived in 1890 at 221 East Orange St., Lancaster.
Mary Maris Hurford was born on 23 May 1838 at Lancaster, PA. She died on 21 Apr 1928 at Lancaster, PA, at age 89. She was buried at Woodward Hill Cemetery, Sec. 17, Lot 3, Lancaster, PA. Subject along with sister Anna M. of oil painting previously owned by Mary and Ellen Appel. Census 1900 PA, Lancaster, 119 North Lime St.

58. Francis Leland8 Calder (Martha7 Leland, Lewis6, Aaron5, Daniel4, Hopestill3, Hopestill2, Henry1) was born on 1 May 1838 at South America. He married Anna Elizabeth Breneman, daughter of Abraham Breneman M.D. and Anna H. Reigart, on 26 Jun 1862 Lancaster, PA. He died on 10 May 1913 at Lancaster, PA, at age 75. He was buried at Woodward Hill Cemetery, Sec. M, Lancaster, PA.
Tombstone says died 5/16/1913. He was Tobacconist at 18 N. Queen, per 1866-67 City Directory. He appeared on the census of 1880 at Superintendent of Cotton Mill. He appeared on the census of 1900 at Accountant in Lancaster. He lived in 1900 at 117 College Ave, Lancaster City.
Anna Elizabeth Breneman was born on 28 Nov 1839 at Lancaster, PA. She died on 24 Nov 1895 at Lancaster, PA, at age 55. She was buried at Woodward Hill Cemetery, Sec. M, Lancaster, PA.
