Joseph (Col.) Blackwell Sr was born on 9 Jul 1715 at Northumberland Co., VA. He died on 30 May 1787 at Fauquier at age 71. Known as "black" Blackwells from their black eyes and hair and brunette complexion. He was educated at Oxford. He was Burgess for Prince William County. He was educated at Eton, England. He lived at "Stratford." In 1750 Col. Phil inherited "Stratford" while studying law at Inner Temple, London.

25. James4 Steptoe Jr. (James3, John2, Anthoney1) was born on 16 Jul 1750 at "Hominy Hall" Westmoreland. He married Frances Calloway on 18 Feb 1781. He died on 9 Feb 1826 at Route 623, "Federal Hill" built 1772, near New London, Campbell Co., VA, at age 75.
He was educated at William & Mary, roommate of Thomas Jefferson. He was Clerk of Bedford Co for 54 years. He was (an unknown value). Clerk's Office on land of "Federal Hill."

Military service Lieut 3rd Va. Reg. Had Smallpox. He was Mercantile business with Col. Martin Pickett in Warrenton. Will on 20 Jun 1820.
Ann (Eustace) Hull was born circa 1761. She married Edwin (Capt.) Hull. She died on 2 Dec 1840 at Fauquier. She was buried at Blackwell Cemetery, "The Meadows", Bethel, Warrenton, VA. Received Pension Cert 1191.

Eustace and Agatha Conway, in 1779 Fauquier. He married Judith (Lee) Pierce-Peachy, daughter of Kendall Lee and Elizabeth (Betty) Heale, circa 1797. He died in 1823 at Fauquier.

Henry (Light Horse Harry) Lee was born on 29 Jan 1756 at "Leesylvania" near Dumfries, Prince William County, VA. He married Anne Hill Carter, daughter of Charles (of Shirley) Carter and Anne Butler Moore, on 18 Jun 1793. He died on 25 Mar 1818 at Cumberland Island, GA, at age 62. He was buried at 1913 body brought to Lexington VA and buried with famous son Robert E. Lee. Died a pauper, spent 2 years in debtor's prison. Hated Thomas Jefferson. Spent last 5 years of his life wandering from one tropical isle to another.
