My name is Joann Wash and I live in North Dakota (no we don't have winter 12 months a year, although sometimes it seems like it!) We live just 15 miles from the beautiful North Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Badlands are unique and an interesting place to visit. The summers are wonderful, with daylight until 10 PM or later. That gives us lots of time after work to enjoy the many things to do here.
We are 25 miles from Tobacco Garden that is a resort on Lake Sakakawea, a huge lake that we have spent many vacations on our boat and only came to shore when we ran out of gas! It was formed on the Missouri River when the Garrison Dam was built and there are many nice resorts. Camping and fishing is great. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that this is one of the few places in the world that you can fish for the prehistoric paddlefish. They are snagged and if you get one, look out, and hope you're in good shape. A 100 lb paddlefish can take you for quiet a run down the shore before one of you gets to tired and gives up.

As I do not consider myself a talented researcher, this site is not meant to be absolute proof but is as accurate as possible.
