Elizabeth Curry was born circa 1819 at Sicklinghall, Yorks, England; Elizabeth was also listed as born Sicklinghall in the 1861 census. The description of Sicklinghall, from 1822 says, ""SICKLINGHALL, in the parish of Kirkby Overblow, upper-division of Claro; 3 miles W. of Wetherby, 5 from Harewood, 6 from Knaresborough. Pop. 257."1 She was born circa 1819 at Harewood, Yorks, England; The 1851 census lists Elizabeth as born Harewood.2 She was the daughter of William Curry and Mary Ann Shores. Elizabeth Curry was christened on 11 April 1819 at Kirkby Overblow, Yorks, England; Parents listed were William Curry and Mary Ann.3 She married Charles Pearson on 25 June 1843 at St Peter's, Leeds, Yorks, England; The marriage certificate gives Elizabeth's address as York Street, daughter of William "Cerrey", a bricklayer. Charles Pearson, widower, was of Garden Street, son of George Pearson, farmer. The witnesses were Richard Mann and Ann Mann who made their marks. Elizabeth also made her mark, but Charles signed his name as Charles Peason.4 Elizabeth Curry married Edward S. Smith, son of John Smith and Mary Kitchen, on 15 June 1846 at St Mark's Woodhouse, Leeds, Yorks, England; At the time of marriage, Elizabeth's residence was Woodhouse Carr while Edward Smith's was Woodhouse. Both were listed as "above 21". Edward Smith's father was John Smith and Elizabeth Pearson's was listed as William Curry. She was a widow at marriage. Witnesses were John Harrison and Rebecca Goodrich. He was an Iron Moulder.5 Elizabeth Curry died after 1891 at possibly Holbeck, Yorks, England; Elizabeth Smith, although not in Ancestry's index as Elizabeth Smith, aged 72, does appear in the household with her daughter and her husband John Fenton in Holbeck. There is a death in 1894, listing an Elizabeth Smith, aged 76, in Holbeck which is likely her, but the writer has not yet sent for a certificate.1
