Walter Sharpe

Walter
Sharpe was born on 5 January 1747 at
Cecil Co, Maryland. He was the son of
Thomas Sharpe Jr and
Elizabeth Gillespie. Walter Sharpe married
Elizabeth Harden, daughter of
Robert Harden and
Jane (?), on 26 January 1775. Walter Sharpe died in 1779 at
Iredell Co, North Carolina; now Alexander County.
Walter Sharpe was a Lieutenant during the Revolution and while it is believed that he was killed in the Battle of Ramsours Mill, the actual place of death has yet to be determined. He and his wife had lived near Rocky Face Mountain, which later became part of Alexander County.
