John McCoy was born circa 1710 at Ireland. He married Esther Beatty, daughter of Walter Beatty and Martha (?), circa 1738 at Cecil Co, Maryland. John McCoy died on 24 February 1783 at Cecil Co, Maryland.
John McCay's Will named his wife Esther and children. It lists a grandson Henry McCay, and another, John McCay [to whom he left the plantation on which he lived]. Evidentally, this John died in 1794 (Cecil Co. DD-121). John McCay mentions his brother, Robert McCay, but no further clues as to his background. The Will also lists George & Josiah Alexander as his sons-in-law. John McCoy was also known as John McCay. He immigrated in 1729 to Pennsylvania; The voyage of the George and Anne, which left the County of Longford, Ireland for Pennsylvania 9 May 1729, arriving in Pennsylvania 4 Oct 1729. He left a will on 4 June 1781 at Cecil Co, Maryland, and it was probated 24 Feb 1783.
