     Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe was born circa 1835 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.2 She was the daughter of Fieldon Sharpe and Sarah Allen. Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe married Jesse H. Harper on 27 May 1852 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.3,4 Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe died on 22 December 1920 at Gastonia, Gaston Co, North Carolina.5 She was buried on 24 December 1920 at Huntersville, Mecklenburg Co, North Carolina.5
      Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe was also known as Mira Elizabeth Harper. Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe was also known as Linura Sharpe. She and Jesse H. Harper appeared on the census of 1880 at Concord Twp, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Jesse Harper, 53, Mira, 44, William, 16, Laura, 13, Martha, 11, Pruda, 9 and Florence, 3.3 Elmira Elizabeth Sharpe appeared on the census of 5 June 1900 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co, North Carolina; Elizabeth Harper, 48, wid, had 10 children, with six still living; Martha, 20, Florence, 16, Prudence, 18, and Everett, 2, her grandson. The dates here are definitely confusing. It seems every census varies so widely on ages - for example, Prudence could not be born in 1882 since she is listed on the 1880 census as 9. There always seems to be a ten year variance back and forth.6,7 She appeared on the census of 26 April 1910 at Gastonia, Gaston Co, North Carolina; Marrie E. Harper, 67, wid, had 10 children, with 6 still living; Prudie, 26, Florence, 24 and Martha Brison, 29, wid.8
