Rainey Hester was the daughter of Thomas Hester and Elizabeth (?). Rainey Hester married Berry A/R Cloer at North Carolina.
Rainey's last name comes from the Will of Thomas Hester, who must be her father, since Berry "Cloor" is named as his son-in-law. The will was written 16 July 1828, and was probated 20 August 1828. He had 6 children, but only named 3 of the unmarried daughters, Tabetha, Margaret and Frances, as well as son Henry. Perhaps pursuit of the HESTER family will bring further info on the origins of Berry Cloer. Further documents (1856) show two sisters had married, as they were listed as Tabetha Butler and Margaret Rickert in a land division that Berry Cloer administered. Peirce heirs and Cloer heirs also received land. In 1842, Berry Cloer was also administrator for the estate of Herod Pearce.
