Charles Filmore Sharpe

     Charles Filmore Sharpe was born in 1874 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.¹ He was born in 1872; death certificate, Vol 25, page 285 (1939), Vital Statistics Iredell Co. He was the son of William Paley Sharpe and Mary Ann Cloer. Charles Filmore Sharpe married Alice Brown, daughter of Absalom C. Brown and Julianna A. Cloer, on 30 September 1899 at Iredell Co, North Carolina; The certificate says the groom was 23 years old and the bride was 21.² Charles Filmore Sharpe died on 10 February 1939 at Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina; death certificate, Vol 25 page 285 (1939), Vital Statistics Iredell Co. He was buried on 11 February 1939 at Trinity Methodist Church, Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Charles' death certificate lists him as either Charles P. or R. Sharpe. He had been a farmer, living Rt 1, Harmony, NC. He died at the hospital in Statesville. Burial arrangements were made by Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, and the informant was Fred Gaines, Jr of Statesville.
     He appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 at Concord Twp, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Charlie P. Sharpe, 54, Alice, 38, Clyde, 22, William, 14, and Mary, "mother", 80 and a widow.³
