     Thomas Reay was born on 26 June 1876 at Gateshead, Durham, England.1 He was the son of Robert Reay and Rose A. Fawcett. Thomas Reay filed a marriage intention to Sarah M. Waugh, daughter of James Irwin Waugh and Mary Elizabeth Logan, on 29 March 1902 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Thomas was aged 25 and Sadie was 21.2 Thomas Reay married Mary Considine, daughter of Thomas Considine and Mary Hedlock, on 2 December 1912 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Thomas was a 32 yr old widower and woodworker of Lowell, and Mary was 23, a mill operator there.3 Thomas Reay married Sarah M. Waugh, daughter of James Irwin Waugh and Mary Elizabeth Logan, on 2 April 1902 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts.4
     Thomas arrived in the United States at Boston with his parents and older brothers James and Greg, and younger sister Jane on the ship "Kansas", which departed from Liverpool. He was listed as 6 yrs old on the passenger list.5 Thomas Reay was naturalized on 23 November 1898 at Police Court, Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; At this point, he was living at 2 rear 307 Worthen Street, Lowell.1
