Sarah Margaret Bigham was born in 1838 at Tirkelly, County Down, Ireland.2 She was the daughter of Andrew Bigham and Ann Stranaghan. Sarah Margaret Bigham was baptized on 23 August 1838 at 1st Rathfriland Presbyterian, Rathfriland, County Down, Sweden.2 She married Samuel Waugh, son of David A. Waugh and Sarah Ervine, on 7 June 1876 at Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Both Samuel, 32, and Sarah, 38, were residents of Newton at the time of marriage, and his occupation was a coachman. They were both born Ireland, and the record listed his parents as David and Sarah Waugh, and hers and Andrew and Ann Bigham. They were married by Rev. Alexander Blaikie of Boston.3 Sarah Margaret Bigham died on 9 October 1889 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co, Pennsylvania.4
She was buried on 12 October 1889 at North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co, Pennsylvania; She was originally buried in a lot owned by Samuel Best at the North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. Samuel appears to have purchased that lot on 20 July 1886 just previous to the burial of Martha Best, aged 20 years, dated 26 July 1886. Sarah Bingham Waugh was then buried in grave #2 on 11 October 1889, then aged 56 years. Cause of death had been noted as cancer of the uterus. Since her son William was born in Philadelphia in 1882, it appears they were still living there in 1889 when she died.4,5
She appeared on the census of 10 June 1870 at Newton Centre, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Sarah Bingham was living with Susan B W Chadwick as a domestic servant.6 On 27 July 1910, Margaret Bingham, Sarah's sister-in-law, then aged 79 years, was interred in the back of Lot#90. Margaret was a native of Ireland, who died 26 July 1910. Her cause of death was listed as Rheumatic Arthritis, and her address was Ashbourne, Pennsylvania. Margaret's parents were Colin Thompson and Margaret Rowan. Her husband was James Bingham. The 1910 census shows Margaret Bingham, mo-in-law, aged 78, living with Martin Porter, 40 and Agnes Gunning, 41 (married in 1896) and their combined children. Margaret had immigrated 1887, had 7 children, with 6 living.
On 7 November 1925, Sarah Bingham Waugh's remains were removed from Philadelphia and reinterred in Framingham, Massachusetts.7
