     Paul Pépin was born on 7 July 1679 at Ile Aux Grues, Quebec.1 He was baptized on 7 July 1679 at L'Islet, Quebec; His sister, Elisabeth Pepin, was present at his baptism, along with his parents and Louis Couillard, son of Lespinay.1 He was the son of Antoine Pépin dit Lachance and Marie Teste.1
