     Rebecca Filer was born on 7 January 1778. She was the daughter of Samuel Filer and Jerusha Hopping. Rebecca Filer married Enoch Salls, son of Hix Salls and Mary Briggs, circa 1795. Rebecca Filer married Joseph Whitman on 30 September 1834 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St George's Anglican Church. Rebecca Filer died on 22 October 1845 at St George's Anglican Church, Lacolle, Iberville Co, Quebec, at age 67.1 She was buried on 24 October 1845 at Quebec; Present were Mary Kirtland, her daughter and James Whitman, her stepson.2
