George Orville Tallman

     George Orville Tallman was born on 8 December 1924 at Champlain, Clinton Co, New York.¹ He was the son of James Tallman and Victoria Hebert.^2,3 George Orville Tallman married Doris Helen Laforest on 13 July 1946.¹ George Orville Tallman died on 17 March 2003 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, Clinton Co, New York, at age 78; "He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attained the rank of Sergeant. George was a loving son, brother, father and uncle. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and he was a master woodworker. George worked as a frog farmer, miner, restaurateur, entrepreneur and then a stationary engineer until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1418. He was a truck-bank and coin collector. He always loved a good joke. He will be very much missed by his family and friends."¹

He was buried on 20 March 2003 at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Plattsburgh, Clinton Co, New York.¹
