Pearl Wesley Covey was born on 9 August 1891 at Hinesburg, Chittenden Co, Vermont.1 He was the son of Benjamin Reynolds Covey and Hannah Cook.1 Pearl Wesley Covey married Edna B. Goddard, daughter of Herbert H. Goddard and Maude V. Taylor, on 1 January 1914 at Worcester, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.2
On June 1917, Pearl Covey, 25, registered for the draft at Gardner, Massachusetts. He had blue eyes and was of medium build. Pearl also stated he had a wife and two children at that time, and owned and ran a garage in Gardner. His address was given as 135 Main Street, Gardner.3
