Joseph Burley Sr.

Joseph Burley Sr. was born circa 1761 at New Hampshire.1 He married Molly Cate on 27 May 1784.2 Joseph Burley Sr. married Melinda Holt, daughter of Moses Holt and Desire Hall, on 10 August 1806 at Franklin, Franklin Co, Vermont. Joseph Burley Sr. died on 1 April 1841 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 He was buried at Phillipsburg Protestant Cemetery, Philipsburg, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
Joseph Burley had been a sargeant in the Revolution, being mustered in at Kingston by Josiah Bartlett in 1780.
He was, by trade, a brick-layer and moved to Walden, Vermont 1796, a selectman there in 1797. Sometime after that he removed to St. Armand, Quebec.2
