     James Howard Salls was born on 27 September 1850 at Illinois.2,1 He was the son of Stephen Hix Salls and Ruth E. Tripp.1 James Howard Salls married Ella Gilbert Hawley circa 1876.3 James Howard Salls died on 24 December 1911 at Ridgefield, Fairfield Co, Connecticut, at age 61.4 He was buried at Scott's Cemetery, Ridgefield, Fairfield Co, Connecticut; He was buried in Section 5 of the cemetery.5
