Benjamin Franklin Salls was born on 22 March 1821 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of Isaac Salls and Elizabeth Crawford. Benjamin Franklin Salls was baptized on 30 January 1840 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He married Lydia A. Tryon, daughter of Daniel Tryon and Mary Ann Longeway, on 16 February 1840 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Alburgh Vital Records. Benjamin Franklin Salls died on 2 February 1872 at Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 50. He was buried at Beebe Village Cemetery, Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec.
Benjamin's baptism, which took place in 1840, says he was born 22 Mar 1821, and that his parents were Isaac Salls and Rachel. Isaac's wife Betsy Crawford did not die until 11 April 1821, almost 3 weeks after his birth. It is likely a result of Benjamin's birth that Betsy died. I imagine that since his father married Rachel the next October, that she was the only mother Benjamin ever knew.1,2 He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Rouville Co, Quebec; Benjamin Salls, farmer, b. Canada, Presbyterian, 31, Lydia, 33, Isaac B., 11, Daniel E., 8, and Samuel P., 6.3
