Daniel Salls

     Daniel Salls was born on 10 August 1829 at Quebec. He was the son of Isaac Salls and Rachel Spear. Daniel Salls married Eliza Jane Sheller, daughter of Samuel Sheller and Jane Tryon, on 24 March 1851 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.¹ Daniel Salls died on 9 February 1906 at Troy, Orleans Co, Vermont, at age 76.² He was buried at Jay Center Cemetery, Jay, Orleans Co, Vermont.³
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Magog, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Daniel Salls, 49, Eliza J., 48, Henry D., 23, George H., 21, Hiram T., 18, John W., 14, Gustin, 11, and Enoch F., 7, all born Quebec, belonging to the Church of England.⁴ He appeared on the census of 6 June 1900 at Troy, Orleans Co, Vermont; Daniel Salls, 74, was born August of 1826 in Quebec, and his wife "Lizzie J." , 67, as born August 1832 Quebec. They had been married 49 years and had come to the US in 1875. Lizzie had 8 children, with 6 still living.⁵
