Timothy Thompson

     Timothy Thompson was born circa 1803 at Richmond, Chittenden Co, Vermont.¹ He was the son of Josiah Thompson.¹ Timothy Thompson married Matilda Jane Patterson, daughter of Frederick Patterson and Nancy May, on 26 October 1848 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Timothy was of Burlington, Vermont and Matilda was of Clarenceville.² Timothy Thompson died on 25 January 1890 at Poor Farm, Morristown, Lamoille Co, Vermont; This writer had always imagined Timothy died before 1860, when Matilda shows up with her two children, and without him. But, this Timothy is definitely son of Josiah, born 1803 in Richmond, Vermont.³
     He appeared on the census of 1850 at Williston, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Timothy Thompson, 47, Jane M., 24, and Timothy, 1. They were residing with Josiah Thompson, 75 b. NH, and his wife Arniah/Amiah, 71, b. MA, presumably Timothy's parents.¹
