     Ida May Popple was born on 17 January 1867 at St Albans, Franklin Co, Vermont.2,3 She was the daughter of William R. Popple and Emily Almeda Young.1 Ida May Popple married Charles L. Evans on 1 January 1891 at Fairplay, Grant Co, Wisconsin; The obituary stated the year was 1889 in error.3 Ida May Popple died on 25 May 1950 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co, Iowa, at age 83; Funeral services will be at Gill Funeral Home here Sunday At 1pm for Mrs. Ida May Evans, 81, a resident of Manchester 68 years, who died Thursday at her home at 436 South Tama street here; burial in Oakand cemetery here: born at St. Albans Point, Vt., Jan. 17, 1867, and was married to Charles L. Evans at Fairplay, Wis., Jan. 1, 1889; she was a member of the Congregational church; leaves two sons, Earl and Hobart Evans, both of Manchester, one brother, William W. Popple of Fairfax, VT., 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; husband died several years ago.3 She was buried on 28 May 1950 at Oakland Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.3
     She appeared on the census of 25 June 1880 at Georgia, Franklin Co, Vermont; It is obvious that after Emily died, her older children were sent to live elsewhere under employment. Emily was 14, living as a servant in the household of O.C. Hubbard.2
