     Permelia Salls was born circa 1837; Permelia may very well be the daughter of [James?] Salls and Pamelia Covey.1 She has also be reported to have been born December 1832 Canada Listed as Permelia Dewey, 67, widow, having had no children in 1900.2 She was the daughter of James Salls and Maria M. Tryon.1 Permelia Salls married Nathaniel H. Dewey after 1860 at New York.1 Permelia Salls died before August 1911 at Lawrence, St Lawrence Co, New York; A legal notice posted in the paper concerning the proving of her Will mentions Corbin D. Sauls, and David Partlow, both of whose whereabouts was unknown, as heirs. The Will was proved 1 Jul 1912, listing Permelia P. Dewey of Lawrence, NY, with heirs being" Horatio Partlow, brother, Lawrence, NY; Nellie Teufel, niece, 454 Market St, Patterson [sic], NJ; William Platt, nephew, Philadelphia, PA; children or heirs of Corbin D. Sauls, a half brother; children or heirs of David Partlow, a half brother, and any other unknown heirs at law and next of kin unknown. NY-45-45-377. The final document was dated 14 Oct 1912 at Ogdensburg, NY.3
     Nathaniel's widow, Permelia, began receiving a, $8 a month allowance beginning in August 1879, when she was a resident of Brushton. She appeared on the census of 2 June 1880 at Moira, Franklin Co, New York; Parmelia Dewey, 42, b. Canada, (mo and Fa both b. Canada) widowed, and her mother, Maria "Sals", b. NY, father b. CT, mo b. VT. Obviously a few inconsistancies on where people were born.1 She appeared on the census of 22 June 1900 at Moira, Franklin Co, New York.2 She left a will on 10 July 1906 at Brushton, St Lawrence Co, New York; Permelia P. Dewey left all her property to her nephew, William Platt, son of her half sister, Elizabeth Flint, and wished he take make sure that his mother be well cared for should she need aid. - NY-45-45-377. She appeared on the census of 25 April 1910 at Lawrence, St Lawrence Co, New York; Pamelia Dewey, 78, widowed, and an aunt, in the household of Charles Partlow. She was listed as b. NY as well as her parents.4
