Henry Doane1

M, b. 8 July 1837
Henry Doane was born on 8 July 1837 at Preston, New London Co, Connecticut.1,2,3 He married Susanna Covey, daughter of Elisha (Elijah) Covey and Sarah Priest, on 10 September 1865 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; The Doane book mentions Henry married Susie E. Covey of Franklin, Quebec. This would explain why Aaron and Auldice Covey were both living in Framingham with the Doane family. Susie E. Doane is just the right age to be their sister Susanna.

However, the marriage record for Henry Denne and Susan Covey indicates his parents were Joseph Denne and Karen Treal.1,4
From 1865 to 1870, Henry was employed by the B&A Railroad, then lived in Cincinnati from 1870 to 1877, when he removed his family from there to Brooklyn, New York, where he was employed by the NY Consolidated Gas Company.1 Henry Doane appeared on the census of 6 June 1870 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Henry Doane, 33, b. CT, railroad conductor, wife Janie E., 26, b. Canada, Harry L., 4, Joseph H., 2, Suzie E., 7/12, along with Oldis Covey, 23 and Aaron Covey, 18, both b. Canada, as well as James Wilson, 16, b. NY
It appears that Susanna had her brother and sister living with her at that time as well as her sister Sarah's son, James Wilson.2
