Arden Kelton was born circa 1804 at Vermont.1 He was the son of Ebenezer Kelton and Phoebe Salls. Arden Kelton married Mary Kirk.2 Arden Kelton died on 3 February 1888 at Arkansaw, Pepin Co, Wisconsin.2
Arden and his wife Mary must have lived in Vermont until at least 1849 as his children's births were listed as VT in the 1860 census.1 Arden Kelton was also known as Arden Kelton. He appeared on the census of 21 June 1860 at Waubeek, Pepin Co, Wisconsin; Arden Kelton, 54, b. VT, Mary, 47, b. Ireland, Jennie, 20, Adam, 16 and Anson, 10. Arden was a painter and the family was living with Hiram Thompson, 22 and his wife Mary 21, born VT.3
