David Salls

     David Salls was born circa 1847 at St Lawrence Co, New York.^2,3 He was the son of Enoch Briggs Salls and Lovina C. Lillie.¹ David Salls married Martha A. Pierce.⁴ David Salls died in May 1908 at West Potsdam, Saint Lawrence Co, New York; Canton Commercial Advertiser - May 19, 1908
David L. Salls died suddenly at his home near West Potsdam Saturday of bronchial pneumonia. He. had been in his usual health up to within thirty-six hours of his death and the seizure was so sudden and severe that death came almost before family or friends realized his condition.

Mr. Sails was a man of splendid qualities and had friends wherever he was known. He was reared in the town of Potsdam and was the son of the late Briggs Salls, a man widely known throughout the county. Mr. Sails made his residence in this village for a number of years of late but had moved back onto his farm in the town of Potsdam which he conducted at the time of his death.

He is survived by three children, Miss Maude Salls, a teacher in Canton Village Schools; David Max, a student at St. Lawrence and a daughter who remained at home.

Funeral services were held Monday, Rev. Payson and Rev. Petty officiating, Burial at Fairview. Mr. Salls was in his sixty-first year.^2,1 He was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Canton, St Lawrence Co, New York.⁵
