George R. Smith

     George R. Smith was born circa 1852.² He married Susan E. Curtis, daughter of James S. Curtis and Laura Emery, after 1880.¹ George R. Smith died on 15 January 1925 at Lowville, St Lawrence Co, New York; George R. Smith was Lowville's Street Commissioner and suffered a fatal heart attack at 10 AM while directing employees on snow removal on State Street. He had previously been sheriff of St Lawrence County. He had lived in Potsdam before coming to Lowville. He was survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters. He was 73 years old.^1,2
