Philip Aylsworth

M, b. 1725, d. 1801
Philip Aylsworth was born in 1725 at North Kingston, Washington Co, Rhode Island. He married Deborah Wait, daughter of Samuel Wait and Sarah Greene, on 1 July 1753 at Exeter, Washington Co, Rhode Island.1 Philip Aylsworth died in 1801 at Hallowell Twp, Prince Edward Co, Ontario.
Philip Aylworth, of West Greenwich, and Deborah Aylworth, sold land in West Greenwich to William Barker on 19 Sep 1769 [West Greenwich records]. It is likely that they left Rhode Island about that time as on 18 Feb 1772, they deeded land in West Greenwich to Judiah Aylworth. The deed mentions that Philip Aylworth was of New Britain, Dutchess County, New York. The book on the Aylesworths says they went to Canada about 1790; remained in Ernesttown for a bit, but then crossed in to Prince Edward County where Deborah died. Philip returned to Columbia County, New York and then back again to Prince Edward County, "where he died suddenly, when in the field at the home of his granddaughter's husband, Asa Werdon" aged about 90 years.1
