Joseph Smith Thomas

     Joseph Smith Thomas was born circa 1800 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.¹ He was the son of Charles Thomas and Huldah Smith.¹ Joseph Smith Thomas married Mary Ann (?); A later doc mentions George Thomas and wife Mary to Mary Ann Thomas, indicating as well that Joseph Smith Thomas had a brother George.² Joseph Smith Thomas died on 26 July 1831 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.¹
     An indenture was made between Mary Ann Thomas and Joseph Sulis, as executors of the Will of Joseph Smith Thomas, and George Thomas, pilot, and his wife Mary of Saint John "of the one past" and George Ball, merchant, of Saint John. Both George Thomas and Joseph Smith Thomas were tenants of the same land left by their father. The sale of property was done to pay off much of the debt left by Joseph Smith Thomas.²
