Emma J. Close was born circa 1866.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Close and Johanna May. Emma J. Close married Joseph Nisbet, son of Oliver Nisbet and Mary Stewart, on 21 August 1882 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; They were married at the residence of officiating minister, Rev. J.E. Hopper, M.D.² Emma J. Close died on 4 January 1898 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Emma was aged 32 years at her death.³
