John Hennagin was born circa 1807 at Canada.¹ He married Elizabeth Covey, daughter of Archibald Covey and Susanna Hall, before 1839; Nothing conclusive that proves this is the Elizabeth Covey who married John Hennagin, but her birthyear is on the mark and she named her first son Archibald. Since the Hennigans married into other Covey members, it is of this writer's opinion that it is a match.^1,2
John Hennagin appeared on the census of 24 September 1850; John Hannegan, 43, Elizabeth, 32, Archibald, 11, Hannah, 9, John 7, Martha, 5 and Robert, 3, all b. Canada, except Martha, who was b. NY.¹
