     Thomas Squires was born circa 1820 at Carleton Co, New Brunswick.1 He was the son of Jabesh Caleb Squires and Martha Hammond.1 Thomas Squires married Orinda Kearney on 25 July 1846; Both parties were of the Parish of Kent in Carleton Co.
It is said that the family settled in California sometime after 1865.2,1
