     Artemus Patterson was born in May 1819; Artemus may not be the son of John and Sally Patterson, but at this point (2000), it looks like this is the logical family. Further research is needed to prove or disprove this theory, as he may also be son of Levi.1 He was the son of John Patterson and Sally (?). Artemus Patterson married Elizabeth Merritt on 22 February 1836 at Highgate, Franklin Co, Vermont; They were both of St Armand at the time of marriage. Artemus Patterson married Betsy Kingsburg circa 1846.2
      (an unknown value).3 Artemus Patterson appeared on the census of 1860 at Hambden, Geauga Co, Ohio; Artimus Patterson, 41, Betsy, 28, both b. NY; Arthur L., 14 and Adelade, 8, both b. Ohio.2 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Hambden, Geauga Co, Ohio; Arthur L. Patterson, 54, Meranda M., 49, both b. Ohio; Artemus, 81, father, b. NY, and both parents born NY, widowed; and Lucy A., 48, sister, Ohio.1
