     Mary Permelia Curtis was born circa 1805 at Quebec. She married Hix Salls, son of Isaac Salls and Elizabeth Crawford, on 10 April 1825 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; The record was signed as Hix Salls 3rd, Mary Permelia Curtis, with witnesses being Enoch Curtis, Lury Curtis and Daniel Curtis.1 Mary Permelia Curtis died on 31 July 1876 at Brookdale Cemetery, Stockholm, St Lawrence Co, Quebec; The stone says aged 68 years old.2,3
     She appeared on the census of 1860 at Stockholm, St Lawrence Co, New York; Mary P. Searles, 55, b. Canada, Frederick, 18, Caroline, 15, Sarah P., 12, all b. NY, William Ryan, 5, b. Ohio, Daniel Salls, 23, b. NY.4 She appeared on the census of 16 July 1870 at Potsdam, St Lawrence Co, New York; Permelia Sauls, 63, b. Canada, was enumerated with Thomas Rexford, 24 and his wife Amelia, 21, both b. NY.5
