     Walter Beatty was born at Ireland. He married Martha (?).1 Walter Beatty died after 7 March 1752 at York Co, Pennsylvania.2 His estate was probated on 3 November 1752 at York Co, Pennsylvania; The executors were William Betty, Samuel Betty and William Lindsey. Walter was of Reign Township.2
     An early deed indicates Walter was from Ireland:
William Pollack of Cecil Co., cordwainer, and Margaret his wife, for L37.10s and because they are moving, to WALTER BETTY, late of Ireland, blacksmith, 80 acres of land, part of a tract called Moyn (where David Alexander now lives) on Christiana Creek by the land of James and Moses Alexander. Made 2 Apr 1736. Wit: James Alexander,

     On 13 Nov 1744, in Cecil Co, Maryland, there was:
Deed. Walter Betty and his wife Martha of Cecil Co., blacksmith, for L47, to Robert Mitchell of the same county, 80 acres of land on Christian Creek by the land of James and Moses Alexander. David Alexander conveyed to William Pollock 80 acres of land called Moyn, part of a tract called Newmunster, by deed dated 20 Apr 1727 and recorded 8 Aug 1727 in Lib. S. K. No. 5, folios 81-82. William Pollock sold it to the said Walter Betty by deed dated 2 Apr 1736, recorded in Lib. W. K.
No. 2, folios 171 - 172. Made 20 Oct 1744. Wit: A. Barry, Joseph Thompson, Robert Tweedy. Ackn: same day. JPs: A. Barry, Nathan Baker. Mitchell paid 1s.8p alienation fine to Pereg'n. Frisby 13 Nov. 1744. Rec: 13 Nov 1744. Wm Knight, Clerk.1
     Walter Beatty left a will on 7 March 1752 at York Co, Pennsylvania; Walter "Baty" names his son Samuel and his children son-in-law William Lindsay, daughter Esther Baty "otherwise McCoy...for her son Henry McCoy", daughter Mary Baty "otherwise Linsday, son William Baty, and son-in-law John McCoy. The sons-in-law were actaully referred to as sons, as was common. His residence was listed as Reign Township.2
