     Emily Salls was born on 12 March 1852 at Winthrop, St Lawrence Co, New York.2,3,1 She was the daughter of Henry A. Salls and Mary Ann Shampine.1 Emily Salls died on 14 May 1946 at Fort Jackson, St Lawrence Co, New York, at age 94; Winthrop -- Miss Emily Salls, 94, died on 5/14/1946 in Ft. Jackson.

She was born in Winthrop on March 12, 1852, one of three children of Henry and Mary Shampine Salls of Pierrepont and Brasher, respectively. She was a semi-invalid all her life. She had been cared for by her half-sister, Bertha Gooshaw Beggs for the past 27 years since the death of her father in 1919.

A brother, Willis Salls and a sister, Mrs. William (Ella) Bell died many years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Beggs and Miss Salls moved from Winthrop to Fort Jackson. 18 years ago. The only survivor is Mrs. James (Bertha) Beggs.
Interment was made in the Ft. Jackson-Hopkinton cemetery.

Thursday, 5/16/1946 Massena, NY, Observer.4,2 She was buried on 16 May 1946 at Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Cemetery, Fort Jackson, St Lawrence Co, New York; The funeral was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Beggs, with whom she made her home. She had been a semi-invalid all her life, and after her father passed away in 1919, she went to live with her half-sister, Mrs. Beggs.2
     She appeared on the census of 1 June 1905 at Stockholm, St Lawrence Co, New York; Joseph Gooshaw, 54, b. US, Mary A., 64, b. Canada, and Emily Salls daughter, 48. b. US.5 She appeared on the census of January 1920 at Norfolk, St Lawrence Co, New York; Emily Salls, 65, single, is listed as half sister of the head of household, Fred Gooshaw.6
