Frederick Hix Salls

     Frederick Hix Salls was born on 16 July 1872 at Pierrepoint, St Lawrence Co, New York.² He was the son of Frederick Samuel Salls and Jane Gibson.¹ Frederick Hix Salls married Lillian St Dennis, daughter of John St Denis and Sara McCuen, on 5 December 1896 at Methodist Parsonage, Potsdam, St Lawrence Co, New York; Rev. John Bragg officiated the ceremony.² Frederick Hix Salls died on 20 November 1965 at Potsdam, St Lawrence Co, New York, at age 93.¹ He was buried at Gale Cemetery, Childwold, St Lawrence Co, New York.¹
     Frederick serveed as assessor for the town of Piercefield for over 30 years, and it was he and his wife who built the first tourist cabins. They also operated a grocery store jointly with those cabins.² Frederick Hix Salls was also known as Hector Salls.
