     Horace Salls was born circa 1902.1 He was the son of Frederick Hix Salls and Lillian St Dennis.1 Horace Salls married Clare Minckler circa 1829 at New York; Clare was of Lyon Mountain.1 Horace Salls died on 4 August 1933 at Childwold, St Lawrence Co, New York; Horace was a young guide who had been preparing for a party to arrive from Rochester. He went up the Raquette river accompanied by several others from surrounding camps, and when he shut off the motor, lost his balance and never surfaced. His body was recovered the next day.

He had attended Pircefield High School, nad left his parents, his widow, Clare Minckler and a son Keith, about 2.

Family members had reason to believe that Horace was pushed by a member of the party onboard.1,2 He was buried on 6 August 1933 at Gale Cemetery, Childwold, St Lawrence Co, New York.1
