Robert of Hesbaye

     Robert of Hesbaye was born circa 770 at Hesbaye, Liege, Belgium; Robert was a Frank, Count of Worms and Rheingau and Duke of Hesbaye around 800. He may be son of Thuringbert of Worms and Rheingau and grandson of Robert I of Worms and Rheingau. He is the earliest known male-line ancestor of the French royal family (including the Capetians, the Valois and the Bourbons, all of them his male-line descendents.).² He married Williswinde. Robert of Hesbaye died circa 807.¹
