Polly Salls was born between 1798 and 1800 at Columbia Co, New York; Parentage is not proven for Polly Salls, but she was born too early to be a daughter of Isaac's brother Samuel Hawley Salls. Since the 1800 census shows two boys and one girl born to them before that time, this writer is placing Polly as their missing daughter.1 She was the daughter of Isaac Salls and Margaret Doubleday. Polly Salls married Thomas Baker Crosby on 5 September 1826 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York; Some records point to Mrs. Mary "Polly" Salls as Thomas' 2nd wife, rather than Polly, dau of Isaac and Margaret. But, his War of 1812 Pension Application indicates his wife's maiden name was Polly Salts.2,3 Polly Salls died on 20 November 1878 at Vernon, Lake Co, Illinois.3
