Nehemiah S. Wood

     Nehemiah S. Wood was born circa 1846 at Nova Scotia; Passenger lists show Nehemiah arriving Boston 14 Oct 1850 after a departure from Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.¹ He was the son of Enoch Wood and Priscilla Parker.¹ Nehemiah S. Wood married Abbie W. Fales, daughter of Oldham Fales and Eliza (?), on 26 November 1868 at Bellingham Church, Chelsea, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Nehemiah S. Wood, 22, of Chelsea, carpenter. Abbie W. Fales was 24, of Chelsea, born Nova Scotia.² Nehemiah S. Wood died on 21 April 1924 at Chelsea, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts.
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Middleton Corner, Annapolis Co, Nova Scotia; N.S. Wood, 35, house joiner, Methodist Chirch of England; Abbie W., 36, both b. Nova Scotia; May L., 11, Gracie L., 9; Oldham Fales, 87, Eliza Fales, 73 and Alonzo Fales, 11. The Fales and the Wood children were all Baptist.³ He appeared on the census of 1900 at Chelsea, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Nehemiah Wood, 55, Abby W., 55, Emma, 15, May Nelson, 30, sister; Abby B. Nelson, 2; Emma Wood, 50, sister; Priscilla Wood, 83, mother.⁴ He appeared on the census of January 1920 at Chelsea, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Nehemiah Wood, 72, Abbie W., 75, Mae Nelson, 50, widowed; Abbie Nelson, 21, and Emma Wood, 37. Mae and Emma both listed as daughters. The record shows Nehemiah entered the country in 1852, and Abbie in 1859.⁵
