James Covey was born circa 1781 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; He was baptised at age 19. He was the son of Samuel Covey and Anna Susannah Mitchell. James Covey was baptized on 5 May 1800 at St Gabriel's Presbyterian Church, Montreal, Montreal Co, Quebec. He married Elizabeth (?). James Covey married Mary Salway on 4 November 1823 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 James Covey married Catherine Scriver. James Covey died after 1850; He was living at the time of Catherine Scriver's death.
