Ann Covey was born circa 1806 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont. She was the daughter of Samuel Covey and Anna Susannah Mitchell. Ann Covey married Benjamin Reynolds on 9 March 1831 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.1,2 Ann Covey died on 17 March 1869 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.3 She has also be reported to have been died 5 March 1869 Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont, The transcribed records for the Alburgh Centre Cemetery in the History of Alburgh list her death date as 5 Mar 1869, ae 63 yrs. This may be due to the stone being inscribed some time after the fact.4 She was buried at Alburgh Centre Cemetery, Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.4
Ann Covey was also known as Nancy Covey. Karen Thomas has family documents that indicate: "Nancy Lydia Jane (Jennie) Covey, the daughter of Alfred Melville Covey and Jane Nokes Longeway, said she was raised by a sister of her father after her sisters death in a syrup fire when she was 19. The Aunt was Nancy Covey and she was married to Benjamin Reynolds. The Aunt died when Jennie was about 15; this would be about 1868-69." This writer is now fairly certain that Nancy Covey and Ann Covey were one and the same.5
