Edmund Barlow

     Edmund Barlow was born in September 1626 at Bolton, Lancashire, England. He was the son of John Barlow. Edmund Barlow was christened on 1 October 1626 at Bolton, Lancashire, England. He married Mary Pemberton, daughter of James Pemberton and Alice (?), in 1656.¹ Edmund Barlow died on 19 December 1697 at Charlestown, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts, at age 71. He was buried on 24 December 1697 at Charlestown, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts.
     He was at Charlestorn, Mass 21 Aug 1668 whn he was noted as having L 1:3:0 due for taxes under Gov. Edmund Andros. He was certainly in Massachusetts bay in prior years as his marriage was before 1656. In the Will of his father-in-lae, James Pemberton, of Malden, will dated 23 March 1659/60 and proved 1 April 1662, Pemberton bequethed "to my son Edward Barlow all that my upland ground he now is resident upon containing four acres and to my daughter, Mary his wife and to the heirs of their two bodies for ever". and to "my son Edward Barlow, his wife, my daughter, and their children aforesaid, my orchard plot and the fresh meadow thereunto adjoining contining one acre...only one haalf part of the grass for hay for my wife during her life.²
