     Jane Nokes Longeway was born on 14 January 1819.1 She was the daughter of Augustus Longeway and Nancy Covey. Jane Nokes Longeway was baptized on 5 March 1820 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 She married Alfred Melville Covey, son of Samuel Covey and Anna Susannah Mitchell, on 15 December 1842 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Alfred was of Alburg and Jane of Caldwell's Manor.3 Jane Nokes Longeway died on 24 November 1854 at Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 35; Family records say she died about age 34 of consumption.4 She was buried at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Present were "Augustus Longeway, her father and Henry Longeway, her brother". The transcription from Gerald Rogers records reads died 24 Nov 1854, aged 54 years. We know this is in error.4
