Eva Marshal was born in 1203 at Pembroke Castle, Pembrokeshire, Wales; From 1207 to 1212, Eva and her family lived in Ireland.1
She was the daughter of Sir William Marshal 1st Earl of Pembroke.2 Eva Marshal married William De Braose, son of Reginald De Braose, before 1221 at Wales.1 Eva Marshal died in 1246.1
After her husband's hanging in 1230, she held lands and castles in her own right. She was even granted 12 marks by King Henry III to strengthen Hay Castle. She gained custody of Hay as part of her dower.1
